The specification of the E55 Gold may look rather tame but many small businesses will be tempted by its low price. HP has aimed it specifically at the European market only as it has identified a strong demand here for low-cost single processor servers in the small business sector. Though the E55 is slightly narrow, you'll find it's far better designed with more room for expansion. The entire shell, which must be removed in order to obtain access, is held in place with special Torx screws so you'll need to source a T-15 screwdriver. ??As with IBM, HP has done away with the horizontal expansion slot daughterboard and placed all components on the main motherboard making for a far tidier interior. Cooling is dealt with efficiently as both processor slots are covered by a large plastic duct and this can be unclipped and swung out of the way for easy access.
