This 5.1 kit is based on the popular XPS 2.140 stereo model. Elegant, with simple lines, the speakers' good looks have already proved a big hit with users. The XPS 5.170 is not just a design, however - it's also a set of performance technologies. Hercules has responded to the needs of multimedia users increasingly demanding in terms of audio quality, by utilizing HAT technology, a process used in Hi-Fi systems.Each of the five magnetically-shielded satellites features aluminum in the satellite speaker domes and the result is enhanced audio reproduction, with clear and enveloping sound. The size of the drivers in each of the satellites is larger than normal for improved distribution of medium and treble frequencies and delivery of 70 Watts RMS (140 Watts peak) power. Combined with a powerful 25-Watt subwoofer, the kit draws users right into the heart of movies and games.
