Top 5 Video Games For Young Children

There are plenty of games out there, but how do you know what is suitable for younger kids? Use this guide to learn about some of the best children's games for kids under 8 years.

It's difficult to know sometimes which games to pick for your kids if they're still very young. But the good news is that there are loads of games out there specifically designed for kids of a young age. They are clever too... they're educational and at the same time really good fun. The kids won't even know that they're learning... they just think they're having a great time!
I've done some of the leg work for you to seek out some of the best games for kids, and here they are.

1. TOY STORY 3 for PS3 is a great game. It's a classic, because Toy Story was one of those first animated movies that came out and now the kids can become the characters themselves and roam around in the land of the toy box as Woody or Buzz Lightyear. They will love every minute. The Toy Box is an open world where there are challenges and quests, and what makes this game different to other movie games is that it's not just a copy of the movie plot. The kids really can explore as much as they like. It's not quite so enjoyable for adults as the challenges are quite simple, but it's really wonderful for the kids and easy for them to get the hang of.

2. Disney's Club Penguin on Wii is a real hit with the girls, although boys do seem to like it too. The game features twelve club penguin events and multiplayer competitions to get the kids playing together. When they do well in competitions, they can win or earn exclusive items in the game. There is also a single player mode where they can play against the computer.

3. Just Dance 2 on the Wii is a great fun game for the kids and also encourages fitness. They have to follow the dance routines to the music, and this one seems to keep them interested for hours and hours.

4. Super Mario Bros on Nintendo DS is a fantastic game just like the old classic that you’ll remember playing as a kid. And as it’s a DS game it can be played anywhere making it great to keep the children entertained while travelling.

5. Lego Harry Potter for Nintendo DS and Xbox is as it sounds. It’s Harry Potter characters in Lego form and it’s actually quite fun to watch them play as an adult too. They can cast spells, play Quidditch and explore the world of magic and mayhem.
