Sony PSP Buying Guide
Why should i buy a Sony PSP?
The Sony PSP is one of the fastest growing handheld gaming consoles in the world, but should i buy one? Lets have a look at the PSP and the features it contains:
Portable
The PSP now comes in many different variations such as the Slimline version and the ne Go! Version, both having their own unique identity. The PSP Slimline is very light weight and feels almost not real and slightly fragile but don't let this put you off as the Slimline is very duarable and contains all the features as the other models of PSP. The PSP GO! is much smaller than the conventional PSP's and also hosts a slide function which when closed hides the buttons and control pad but once opened shows the real beauty of this newer model.
Software
The PSP shares the very similar software as the Playstation 3 and allows you to store and browse Photo's, Music, Videos and Games. So if you are already use to using the PS3 software this will be a breeze for you, if you have never used this software before then don't worry as it is very easy to get to grips with.
Connectivity
The PSP has several connectivity options with all serve a purpose, the main connection i would like to talk about is the Wireless capability of this little machine. The PSP can connect to your home router/access point using its built-in wiresless technology. This in turn will enable the user to access the internet/home network directly on the PSP. You will find the Wireless On/Off button on the top of the PSP as a Slider.
UMD
The PSP media comes in 2 ways, either via a UMD (Universal Media Disc) or a Memory Stick Duo. You will find that most media comes in the form of a UMD sucj as games and movies however, games and movies can be downloaded directly to your memory stick from the Sony Store which can be accessed from your PSP menu.
Screen/Graphics
The screen on the PSP in large and very clear, i would advise on buying some form of screen protector so prevent scratching. The PSP graphics are superb, you will not believe your eyes when you play your first game on the PSP.
All in all the PSP is a very powerful little gaming machine with tons of functions, i chose this as it's perfect for me when i am travelling on the train for lengthy times.
