Slippery Elm (Ulmus fulva) is a North American tree with dark green leaves and clusters of small flowers. It get its name from its moistened inner-bark which the North American Indians called 'oohooska', meaning 'to slip'. The inner bark is collected in spring, dried and processed into a powder that is used as a medical remedy.
