ordered a "Sony DVD Recorder RDR-HXD710 with 160GB Harddisk" on 23 jan 2006 said it was in stock with a four to six week delivery. this date was put forward another 4 to 6 weeks and I have phoned customer services today 13 mar 2006 to be told it has now been discontinued and they will not be delivering. extreemly dissapointed as I have been a good customer in the past.

I ordered a Canon A620 digital camera on friday p.m. 10th. march.The approximate delivery date was given as 16th.-20th.I was delighted to find it delivered a.m on the 13th.(monday) An exceptionaly quick turnaround. Well done Amazon.

Beware when buying from Amazon as many offers are really by agents and not Amazon themselves. I purchased two DVD players both went wrong, one at 6 months and the other at 10 months after purchase. The actual seller never responded to numerous mails and Amazon just said that after 60 days it was nothing to do with them. I initially saved a few pounds at Amazon but it cost me £150.00 in ten months. This sort of thing is why on-line shopping will never take over from the high-street retailer

Appalling service, if you don't fit the box your are unable to get anywhere. No return communication, ambiguious e-mails, zero human contact to deal with problems. Can't even get confirmation that the order is cancelled.

Be aware the items displayed as in stock do not mean the item is in stock.
After about an 8 week wait and several excuse Emails we cancelled our order.
I notice the LCD TV we wanted is still being advertised as in stock and has gone up £50
Dont waste your time with this company

Ordered a Gameboy Advanced for our Grandsons Xmas present. We were supposed to receive it shortly after. Time has passed with delayed delivery times. Now they tell us that they are unable to fulfil the order. Not the servpect from such a well known supplier. Certainly decreases the chances of any further orders from us.

I have ordered hundreds of items from amazon in the past and I have been impressed with the service provided in all the orders. Amazon combines the cheapest prices with simplicity and reliability you cannot beat. I have also bought of amazon merchants and only ever had a problem once where the item was delayed by a week. I have not since had any problems with any purchases. When it comes to returns aswell amazon staff will not mess you about.

I purchased an Epson RX 700 printer in Jan 06 which developed a paper misfeed fault-Printer was eventually replace with another faulty one with a different fault (Scanner Clicking In Operation) Amazon would not replace another and arranged for refund which i did not want and stated they had a problem more wide spread with this printer- (Why are they still despatching them if they know they have a problem?).
Contacted Epson who declined there comments. I think there is a cost issue here!

Used Amazon since Oct 99. Buy from all areas.Ordering and purchase system, with its wish list makes selection of items simple.They have always notified me of delays to items which I have ordered in a timely manner (and these delays have only ever been on items which were out of stock when I bought them).On 3 times when big price items have not made it through the Bristol postal depot (shrinkage) Amazon have sent replacement items at once, with no quibbles. Customer services have always responded

Beware 'The Marketplace'. This is not displayed clearly when you are purchasing. Goods from this area of the Amazon website are from third party suppliers and can be individuals selling secondhand goods. Delivery was not the issue but I was not made aware until I expressed doubts about its origin that I was told that I had bought from this part of Amazon. For all I konw the goods could have fallen off the back of a lorry. Amazon should deal with this loop hole on their website.

I have used Amazon for about 3 years and even though I use their supersaver delivery service (2-5 days delivery), normally get the items within 1-2 days. Can't fault them and their returns policy is so easy to use - you can do everything online even as far as printing out your return labels. I wish all online shops were like Amazon!

I ordered a DVD player just before Christmas, along with some DVDs as a gift for friends. The DVDs showed up but the player never did despite Amazon guaranteeing delivery before the 23rd of December.
I received no notification of any problem that week, but the following week when I was on holiday Amazon sent a number of emails saying they had been unable to deliver to my address. It has been difficult to reach customer services for a full explanation. The site has no facility I can find.

Ordered an Epson R320 using normal delivery. Withing 48 hours it was in use and that included a Saturday delivery.
Never had a problem with Amazon, they've always done exactly what I have expected.
I cannot rate their customer support as I have never needed to use it.
Since 2002 I have had 25 orders with Amazon and non have had any problems.

I'm only writing this because it's the first time I've come across these store reviews on AOL and I see that amazon has quite a few critics. Over the past few months I have spent nearly £1,000 with them on about a dosen different items, including digital camera, MP3 players, phones, computer bits, books and so on. I have had brilliant service and, even jsut before Christmas, stuff seemed to be arriving before I had even shut down my computer. Full marks to amazon for Price, delivery, quality.

Ordered Books for christmas on Dec5, did not accept my debit card kept asking to renew card details three times eventually reordered using another debit card after new year. In the end gave up, cancelled order, went down town, bought same books cheaper

I have ordered many items from Amazon. Whilst no delivery system is perfect and things occasionally go missing their customer service is excellent. Also their returns policy is easy to use, just print off a label, put it in the post and your refund appears 3-4 days later. highly recommended.

Have been using Amazon for 2-3yrs now for all sorts of stuff. On whole they are excellent, easy to track deliveries 9 times out of 10 items arrive within a couple of days. Had one item delayed this chistmas (I do the bulk of my christmas shop through amazon), arriving 23rd dec, everything else arrived in good time though. They kept me informed on delayed item and gave me a gift cert. for inncoveniance of delay.

I placed my order for a breadmaker on 31st October and was assured goods would arrive before Christmas.I emailed several times and continued to to be told it would still be dispatched as stated despite the fact that we had by that time gone past the final dispatch date...made no sense to me.
Have now been told it will be another six weeks! I am truly disgusted as this was a gift and it is now too late.
Disgraceful service from Amazon.

Have been ordering with Amazon for a number of years now. Not had any problems at all. The products are delivered efficiently and their customer service is very good indeed. I bought one video a while back that my VCR managed to chew up and they sent me another video cassette straightaway. Not only is the service great but the prices are some of the lowest around. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!

I ordered £170 worth of xmas gifts two weeks in advance to ensure there would be no problems. I found out today with one shopping day to go before xmas that none of these gifts will now arrive on time. In order to discover this I first had to trawl the web for a customer service phone number as there is none on the site.

I placed an order on 6th december 2005 and am still waiting for it to arrive. My account status says I should have recieved the items at the latest on 16th December. Absolutely shocking customer care. I have had numerous unresponded emails, I googled amazon telephone number because nowhere on there site advertised a phone number. The rep at the end of the phone was useless with no definate delivery dates. What a complete shambles. I will vow never to use amazon again.

Ordered a spiderman2 playhouse on 12th Nov (the only item on my little boys list to santa). For 5 weeks the due date appeared as 23rd dec. Now, suddenly (with less than a week to go) the due date appears as 9th Jan. How bad is that?!
