I recently ordered a Fuji Finepix F700 digital camera with an extra 128MB memory card and case. The process of the transaction was quick and easy, which was very reassuring. I then received an email with an estimated date of delivery of 2nd or 3rd of January. A day later I received an email telling me the order had been dispatched and 12 hours later it had arrived on the 31st of December with all items. Fast delivery, easy to navigate site and overall excellent service - 5/5!

I ordered a number of CDs for christmas presents (all with 24 availability - with no warning about xmas delivery, like many other items) on 16th December and requested 1st class delivery to ensure pre-xmas arrival. Nothing arrived for xmas and even now nothing has been delivered. In fact in checking 'my account' on the web site the items have not yet been dispatched and state an estimated delivery date of 23rd December 2003. I have emailed customer service a number of times, but this takes time as you always get an automated response first time and you only get a proper response when you reply that the first answer doesn't answer your query. I am a regular customer of Amazon and generally find their service very good, however I have also had a similar problem with a Palm Tungsten T3 where the delivery date kept slipping and slipping (up to 6 weeks availability)and I was given the runaround by customer service. Eventually I cancelled the order as I could get the T3 at another supplier within 3 days and £20 less. So in summary, generally a good service when it all works well, but when there is a problem the customer service is not up to the expected standard.

I ordered a toshiba sd330e dvd player on 29th december it was`nt supposed to arrive until jan 2,the product arrived on 31st december to my surprise given the holiday season and all.I only had the free standard deliverey and i`m very happy with the service i`ve recieved and i would use amazon again.

Ordered Olympus mju400 digital camera on Dec 26. Received email to state despatched Dec 30, arrived next morning. Camera well protected in Amazons extra packaging.Best price of 229.99 & good service, will use Amazon again. Camera is ultimate boyztoy in photography & produces good quality results.

no probs with amazon.co.uk! I have ordered loads of stuff from them and received it correctly all except once, (they sent the item twice) then I returned the item and was refunded back to my card immediately. excellent I find them!

Always quicker delivery than I expected, even with my ordered Christmas presents, which I had left until the last minute and some. I haven't needed to use customer services, but the overall experience, help advice etc, is easy and clear. Like others, I use the free delivery for over £25 orders and I've found their items frequently at the top of deal lists, eg. Toshiba SD330e DVD player is upto 30 quid cheaper at Amazon than other stores. Why do we get so ripped off by others?

The service was excellent i ordered a television off them 52' it came within 5 hours of my order being accepted and i was watching it within 6. The men who delived it were even kind enough to set it up for me and even disposed of the rubbish i have never had any problems with the TV and having used amazon lots of times before i am very happy and use them for everything. i always recieve the item in two days and it is always to high standard this is the best Internet shopping site on the web its simply THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ordered an audigy pro for a christmas present and it was here within a few days..Great price, great free delivery. No complaints about the Amazon service as I have used it many times before and the main thing I find is they are very very competative on price.

Great Srvice always quick and efficient, normally recieve items faster than stated if using super saver. Recently ordered 3 products for xmas presents, paid for 1st class postage, some items were not in stock for a few days but they sent out the rest of the order separately without charging any extra postage. Once got sent the Wrong Product, a quick ring to Customer Services and they sent out the correct item same day before they had even recieved the incorrect product back. Excellent.

Until recently I'd have given them top marks for there service. Easy ordering and delivery times were accurate. Until a problem arrises. A order I placed in September has only partly arrived. There customer services dept. must have nothing to do all day becasue you can not contact them. And several times when I qualified for super saver delivery they charged me carriage costs....sneeky!

Ignore the other reviews, amazon is a top-class retailer! I've never had problems with them and everytime we order something it either comes on-time or EARLIER than expected. I've mostly ordered books and cds, but I have ordered bigger things in the past and there's been no problems. Also, its free delievery over 25 quid!!!

It really wonder full as I ordered a Minidisk Player MZ-NF810 on 3rd December 2003. I was worrying because it was my frist order on net. But amazon is amazing that I got my player on 5th December 2003 evening. Thank a lot for this response.

I ordered a VCR on November 8th which had a stated availability of 1-2 weeks. After 2 weeks the delivery date was changed (and I only found out by checking my account information). I contacted customer service several times to check that the revised dates would be met and was assured it would each time. The last reassurance was received 10th December in the afternoon that it would be dispatched that day. The following day the delivery date was changed to January 2004 ! How can they say one day that it will be dispatched that day and move the delivery date by several weeks the next day ! What sort of supply chain are they operating ? Customer service emails rarely answers the question I have put to them until I have sent 2 or 3 emails and their web page still states 1-2 weeks delivery. I have now cancelled my order and am unlikely to order from them again. This is not the first order that their delivery promises have provided to be very inaccurate.

I ordered a Sony MHC-RG110 Mini RG Series HiFi System from Amazon and was told there would be a 4-6 wk delivery time. This made it just before xmas or early in the new year. As the item was a present for my son for Christmas, I was dissappointed but the price was good and it was at most, only a few days late, so he agreed and I placed the order. All was fine until I decided to add a CD to the order, as I did this their automated system saw it now as a new order and my deliery date was set back to 4-6 weeks again, which made delivery around 25th Jan!! I sent an email to customer services and got a very standard reply saying that's what their automated service did when I 'revised my order' and offering no help at all. I sent another email saying I was very angry that they'd done this when in fact I was ADDING to my order and the item I added was already in stock. I asked them to retrieve the mini system that had already been put aside for me earlier, I simply got another similar standard reply, explaining in slightly more detail that that's what their automated system does and offering no help. I consider this a shabby way to be treated, when it should have been simple to put right if it were 'real people' rather than automated. I spent several hundred pounds with Amazon this year and think their customer service is disgusting! If this is what happens when I'm trying to BUY from them, what would happen if I had need to return anything???

I was worried about ordering anything other than books, cds etc from this site after reading some bad reviews. I ordered a sony digital camera and a memory stick, and got a free case. The order arrived in two deliveries, the first being the case and memory stick then a few days later the camera arrived. I would happily use this retailer again.
