This 512KB Synchronous L2 Cache stores snapshots of the most recently used regions of system memory so it's immediately available to the processor, therefore the processor spends less idle time waiting for data from the main system memory and more time doing the work that's important to you. Please note, that the standard 256KB L2 cache must be removed from the system before this option is plugged into the system.
