It is fully E-TTL-compatible, and reverts to standard TTL operation when used on older EOS bodies or the T90. The fully swiveling bounce head zooms automatically over a range of 24mm-105mm. Most impressively, 420EX' wireless E-TTL compatibility permits it to function as a "slave" unit, triggered by a 550EX; ST-E2, or MR-14EX. Pros: 180-degree swivel for easy bouncing; unbeatable price; drastic improvement over your digital's built-in flash
Cons: Not as versatile as more expensive flashes; takes at least 4 seconds between flashes

Pros: Powerful focus assist, swivel head, fully e-TTL capable, remotely controllable, FEC capable, compact
Cons: Remote control only as slave, adds bulk and weight to the camera, no manual controls
The Bottom Line: Canon Users: Time to step up to better flash photography? The 420EX may provide the most flash for the buck.
Review: So you got that fancy digital SLR camera but flash exposures still look kind of flat and unappealing. Red eyes are still not fully eliminated (despite pre-flash) and far objects underexposed. The problem is not your technique but the limited capability ...
