Product Description

 
The eTrex Venture offers a worldwide database of cities and increased internal memory. It is also one of three eTrex units that are designed to provide precise GPS positioning using correction data obtained from the Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS). This product will provide position accuracy to less than three meters when receiving WAAS corrections.

Well, I Like Mine, Anyway

The Bottom Line: I like my Venture, it's small, cheap, and easy...just remember to never trust technology 100%.
Review: My dad got me a handheld GPS receiver (GPSr) for Christmas last year -- the Garmin eTrex Venture. It came with a lanyard and a serial cable to connect it to a computer. I haven't used the cable, but I've used the heck out of the GPSr, and I like it!...

Display problems after warranty ran out

Review: Had this unit for several trouble-free months of use. Unfortunately, in about the middle of the second year of owning it, the display started freaking out every so often, with horizontal lines streaking across it. A month later, the display would go...

Not the best but good features for the $$

The Bottom Line: Ok value for the money, would like to see what Magellan has to offer...
Review: I haven't owned other GPS units but I have compared against others. I strongly dislike the lack of shock resistance when I'm on my ATV...however when used in a car or walking the unit seems to perform well. I was not able to get this unit to work...
