Kenwood KRF-V7030D 5.1 Channels Receiver

Kenwood recently unveiled a formidable line-up of Dolby Digital receivers, ranging in price from the aggressively competitive KRF-V5030D (see inset), to the plain aggressive KRF-V9993D flagship. The one that caught our eye though, was the KRF-V7030D, a beast that looks as impressive in the flesh as it does on paper. It comes armed to the teeth with features, and packing powerful amplification at a price that will rock the competition. Kenwood has been known to go over the top with the cosmetic design of its components in an attempt to appeal to the youth market, but the KRF-V7030s funky styling is right on the money. The large display is clear and informative and has a dimmer, but thankfully doesnt have too many of the junk graphics that are often added to draw attention in the shop window. Two jog-shuttle dials serve to keep the button count down and simplify the general operations, leaving a neat cluster of controls in the centre.
