The Bottom Line: For $1100-$1300 you will not find a better pair of binoculars. Even if you spent $300 more, you still would not find a better pair.

Leica Ultravid 8x50 BR Black. The all-new body shell is made of lightweight but sturdy magnesium, and is slimmer in size than the current BN range. The hinge shaft has been replaced with a new light weight titanium version. The prisms are also coated with the new Leica Highlux System, which is a newly developed mirror layer. This increases light transmission considerably and gives clearer definition in the distance. In addition, the improved optical and mechanical configuration markedly reduces stray light.
