Ethernet switches can replace or augment hubs in networks where high volumes are common. Switches segment the traffic into smaller sub-networks, each sub-network consisting of a single PC/Server connection or a hub with a number of connected users. One fine 10/100/1000 Ethernet switch

The Bottom Line: 100/1000Mbps is the only switch to use for home use. Metal case and low-cost ($8/port) makes the GS108 a no-brainer.
