The Pentax Optio 50 digital camera couples its 5.19 megapixels (total) CCD imager with a 3x optical zoom lens equivalent to 32 - 96mm on a 35mm camera. Other features include a 1.8" LCD display with 130,000 pixels, actual-image viewfinder, four-mode internal flash, five scene modes, USB and video connectivity, SD / MMC and 12MB of built in memory for storage, and power from two AA batteries.

Short Battery Life

This camera takes good pictures, but has questionable battery life

The Bottom Line: Entry-level digital photographers should buy this camera for its ease of use and decent results, but should be wary of battery life and purchase additional memory.
