Product Description

 
Allows belaying and lowering of a climbereven where the latter is heavier than the belayer. A handle allows easy control of the device and smooth running of the rope.

The GRIGRI can improve safety in climbing as can the seat-belt in a car, because it jams when tension comes on the rope.

Good if you're a sport climber...

Review: Ok, think about your seatbelt in your car for a second.

Basically the GriGri is based on the same concept. When there's a sudden jerk of the rope the GriGri "locks up." And like a seatbelt the GriGri has probably caused alot of accidents...
