Leveraging Sun's SPARC and Solaris Operating Environment binary compatibility and proven SMP architecture, the rack-optimized Sun Fire V1280 server provides the best investment protection and scalability in its class. Its enterprise-class features include Dynamic Reconfiguration of CPU/memory boards for hot upgrades and easier maintenance, and linear scalability up to twelve processors. Additionally, the Sun Fire V1280 server offers up to 96GB of memory and 9.6GB/sec system bandwidth, which make it an ideal solution for your Windows consolidation needs and a great alternative for high performance technical computing (HPTC).
