The Bottom Line: Price is low, quality high, bagless saves money, powerful suction for upright and hose. Easy to disassemble, easy to see dirt accumulating inside.
I bought this Bissell 6594-W vac because my daughter bought one and showed me how well it picked up dirt right after she used her Dirt Devil (which broke). Other reviews say they too find out the suction is really strong and you get all kinds of gray dirt other vacs don't get. We all regret we had Hoover or others for 20 years before we found this out.
I love being able to see the dirt accumulate in the clear cup. Very easy to empty and install dirt cup. It is very easy to access the 4 filters. The hose has exceptional suction but the hose tends to tip the vac--can live with this. Not too heavy like many self propelled or expensive vacs. Cord is just about right length. Friend's cord was way too long and time consuming to rewind. Fabulous wide path about 15", a really bright panoramic headlight, 7 floor adjustments which really work. Only need the 2 tools with one having a brush and the other half of it turnable to use no brush. Shaped like a triangle to fit in corners. Plus separate long nozzle. Real easy to switch to hose. Suction on hose excellent.
If you buy for $12 another set of washable filters, you could clean them at your leisure. They are very easy to run water on to clean, but take some time to dry like an hour or so with a fan. Could do it overnight to dry,and save money here. Bissell says you only have to clean them every 3+ months, and less if you don't have kids or pets.
Don't think filters are really a problem. Even though not stated that there is a HEPA filter, you have 4 good filters and the last filter has very little if any dust in it, so they work very well. There are articles that say HEPA is not the best in many cases.
You will notice a little dust sticking to the black housing but there is not much and I think electrostatics keep it there for you to wipe off.
YOu cannot beat this price for only $58.99 at Walmart. If it screws up you haven't lost much and could afford to buy something else. Right now I am comparing it with all my friends and it does just as well as the expensive ones. Love it!
