Nearly unbeatable for the price..

aptop is loaded with features that would only have been found on a machine costing double the price last year. The biggest advantages that I can see though are the 2GB of RAM onboard and the 160GB hard drive, which is pretty big by laptop standards. Applications just seem to fly, no matter how many I run simultaneously. The screen is excellent with quite a wide viewing angle and the keyboard feels nice and responsive. Unlike others, I've had no problem with the Orbicam software. The camera worked first time and everytime since and is another very welcome feature in a laptop in this price range. The other concern to some reviewers has been the battery life. Well, they had to make compomises somewhere to keep the costs down I suppose. Having said that, the power management software included does a good job. It throttles back the CPU, dims the screen a bit and switches off the flashy 'Aero' interface in Vista so that the graphics card doesn't have to work so hard. Surfing wirelessly, installing software and word processing, I managed to get to 2hs 9mins before it wanted to switch off and recharge. Plugged into the mains and firing on all cylinders I dare say this would make a good desktop replacement as well.
