Great Price, Average Product

When I purchased a new computer, I decided to purchase it with a new printer and scanner. Before, I always had to borrow my brother's computer and scanner to scan some images to post in the internet. He was using also an Acer, so I decided to purchase the same brand so that I am familiar already on how to use it. I saw the 640P on sale but I have heard how much faster USB devices are so I chose the 640U. Install was very easy and straightforward. Plug the USB cord to the PC, put in the supplied CD-ROM and follow on-screen instructions. The scanner came with a ULead Photo editor and an Abby OCR. I didn't bother loading the Ulead since I was using COREL Photo Paint. The abby ocr was easy to use and was pretty accurate. Images was sharp enough even when used in printing pictures. The scanner is quite slow but still manageable. The scanner would have been nicer if it had quick scan buttons, like newer models. All in all it's a great scanner for the price.
