Pros: Gorgeous form factor. Ease of use, interfacing a breeze. A creators machine.
Cons: 2 512 meg sticks of ram instead of 1, 1 gig stick. ram expensive.
The Bottom Line: The Imac is great if you do not upgrade because you would be so close to a Mac Pro. Carefully configured a great buy. The best first family computer.

Pros: Giant, bright, high-resolution screen. Screen spanning. High-performance multitasking. Easy migration from older Mac.
Cons: Expensive Apple memory upgrade. "Black" is fairly bright. Tricky mouse control; non-obvious right button.
The Bottom Line: Treat your eyes and your precious time to the big screen experience.
