Ipod-Nano
As humans,we have been able to invent some incredible and outlandish things. One of the most incredible things would probly have to be the Ipod-Nano. Technology has come a long way, especially when it comes to listening to music. First it was the record, then the eight track, then the cassette tape, then the cd, and finally the infamous IPod. The iPod has changed the way we listen to music. As a current consumer of the Ipod-Nano, I feel as though it is a good product even though it has some flaws. I bought the Ipod-Nano for easy access to multiple genres of music in a short amount of time and the fact that I am able to take all my music anywhere that I go. Now, by no means do I love the IPod, but I do like it. Even though the Ipod-Nano has some negatives it is the most cost efficient way to listen to music.
The Ipod-Nano is definitely worth its cost. The cost of the IPod at the time I purchased it was about 120 dollars. Now this might seem expensive, but it is actually the most cost efficient way to get music. Let s compare the Ipod cost in comparison to the C.D. players cost. The IPod cost about 120 dollars, and the songs that go on the IPod I can get for free from free downloading programs like Lime wire . So, for 120 dollars I get the IPod and anywhere from 10-1000 songs. Now, let s dissect the C.D. player, the cost for the C.D. player is about 25 dollars. Seems cheap but let s go deeper, the average cost of a C.D. is about 15 dollars and the average amount of songs on a C.D. is 13. Let s say I own 50 cd s, that are 15 dollars per cd and 13 tracks per cd. The total cost of just the cd s is a whopping 750 dollars and let s not forget the 25 dollars for the C.D. player itself and the uncountable amount of batteries I will have to buy. The efficiency and cost of the IPod outweighs that of the C.D. player.
My expectations of the IPod were reasonably high and almost flawless. I expected the IPod to last quite a long time, it has done just that for me, but for others it hasn t quite made the cut. According to other Ipod-Nano owners their IPods did not last that long. Now the reason that they didn t last that long could be how the owner handled it, or maybe the longevity of the product is based on the consumer. Even though IPod has lasted this long for me, the internal aspects has failed. I had to get my Ipod updated so that I can get the outdated program out. Even this is a problem it was quite small, so my expectations of this product has been met.
I feel as though the IPod is a big impact on society and the music industry. As the overall aspect of the device, I feel as though it is very useful in many other ways than just one. The Ipod-Nano is a very sleek, slender, light, and compact music device. It is very portable do to its size, it is about ? inch by 3 inches, and you can use while working out, relax or even listen to on your way to class. Since it is very popular in our culture it is not hard to find some place to have it fixed if it does break.
But, with every positive there is always a negative. Some of the negatives that come with the IPod are as follows. The fact that just a slight touch of the control pad and either the song changes or the volume is adjusted. Since the IPod is so slender, light, and compact it is very easy to lose, break, or even be stolen. As much of a convenience that it is, it is also a distraction. From personal experience, having the IPod on either during class or work can be a big problem. The most important negative of the IPod is how we get the music. Most people get almost all their music from free downloading programs like Lime wire or Frost wire . The negative of this is that people are stealing from the music artist. The artist will not get the money they deserve if people continue to get their songs for free. Also, people are putting themselves at risk for lawsuits for stealing the music.
So, even though there are negatives that come with the IPod, I feel as though the positives once again outweighs. If I had to buy this product again, I would do it in a heartbeat. I would recommend the Ipod-Nano as a good gift for anybody of any age.
