Great Product for those with Wi-Fi Access

I've been using my iPod touch since the middle of December and I find it is one of the best consumer products I've purchased in years. I bought the touch to use initially for browsing the web in different rooms of my house via wi-fi. I find it comes in useful for looking up actors in IMDB, cooking, and those times you want to check your mail but don't want to go to the computer. One of the better features is book mark synching between Safari on the computer and Safari on the Touch. As a media player, the interface for selecting music, video, and photos is top notch and very intuitive. If your used to creating on-the-go playlist with older iPods, the method on the touch may take a little getting used to.

I have installed the paid feature update that was released during the 2008 Macworld Expo, and while I do not agree with the concept of charging users for the update, the added applications are very nice. With this update you truly do get an iPhone minus the phone. So far weather, Google Maps, and Mail have been the standout applications. While it is possible to get nearly all these features via the web browser, you do get added benefits from the applications (such as the ability to quickly delete mail, pinpoint your location on a google map, and see a quick 5 day forecast).

Final thoughts, I have been extremely happy with my iPod Touch, and would recommend it to anyone who already has wi-fi access. If you don't have wi-fi, then go with either an iPhone or one of the other iPod models.
