After 1 week trial, Not For Me!
Date of Review: Jan 19, 2001
The Bottom Line: Not for me, but it might work for you!
I have worn AcuVue lenses for 7 years, comfortably and successfully. I also wear monovision. (One eye for close-up and one eye for distance.)
During my last eye exam, my eye doctor, recommended that I try, new PureVision. The reason: I am a nail technician working with chemicals. He thought the higher intake of oxygen and water to the eye, would be better.
After 3 trial days wearing PureVision, the right eye became extremely dry and my vision in that eye, blurry. After an examination of my eye, the doctor, increased my prescription in my right eye, stating that all lenses have different accuracies. We did not address the dryness or irritation as the left eye was not dry or irritated.
After 3 days again, BOTH eyes were blurry, dry and irritated. I felt like I was looking through Saran Wrap. Evidently, PureVision is not for me.
The irritation and dryness, baffled me. PureVision is supposed to hold more water, allow more oxygen and be more comfortable. For me, the AcuVue are definitely, more comfortable and my vision more acute, with no irritation or dryness. Go figure! So much for new technology, with me.
