Contact wearers rejoice, PureVision is here!
Date of Review: Oct 11, 2000
when I first tried the new Bausch & Lomb PureVision disposable soft contact lenses I was truly estatic! Finally a lens as comfortable as the Accuvue 2 with the convience of a daily disposable and best of all has FDA certification to be used for 24 hours of uninterrupted contact lens wear, 7 days and 6 nights a week!
One of the things I love about the PureVision is it has a clearly defined spherical shape that when bent and released it molds back to just like the Accuvue 2; this is important to me because its significantly easier to insert a lens that doesn't collapse into itself! At the top of my list of likes is undoubtedly the ability to wear the lens 24/7 for a week, I'd say I've drop about 2% of my daily stress not having to deal with the daily insertion & removal ritual; and since I travel alot it is just so much more convienent.
A box of 3 lens' cost $30 retail, my insurance gets me 20% off...but the PureVision is still more expensive than the Accuvue 2 or Accuvue 1-Day, but when factor in the fact you get the best of both worlds and then more its suddenly such a bargain.
In conclusion, its not the miracle millions call lasik, but its the best alternative for people like me who still prefer to wear contacts. I highly recommend contacting your eye care physician and trying a pair out!
