AN INNOVATION IN SOUND QUALITY

The Bottom Line: A little on the pricey side but the Bose experience in innovative sound quality makes this a worthy investment.
Ambient sound is all around us whether it be sitting in our living rooms, at work, or in a public facility. The human brain has the incredible capability to filter out most unwanted noise and will process only the differential. Whether it be ultra low sounds emitted from a refrigerator compressor, high pitched noise being emitted from a blower motor that is traveling through a nearby heating vent, or even low level conversation chatter from another room ambient sound is subconsciously being filtered out of our minds as we hone in in effort to process what we were actually intending to hear. Occasionally the surrounding sound becomes so realized that we eventually can become distracted. The unfortunate loss here is the quality of the sound that we were intentionally trying to process. To test just how perceptive our human body is to ambient sound waves just hold your hand about 1 inch away from your ear and listen. Both hands will offer you a stereo perception test.
Without getting to deep into the semantics of noise cancelling technology, unwanted ambient sound is filtered out by a process that detects ambient sound waves and a negative image is generated through a digital signal processor. This negative image is amplified, and a timed return virtually cancels out its positive predecessor. The result is greatly reduced ambient sound while the intentional audible entities are retained.
The first time I put on a set of Bose QuietComfort 3 headphones and flipped the switch it became apparent just how much ambient sound I was actually was blocking out. Background noises virtually disappeared and the quality of what I was listening to became dramatically enhanced. No company can boast a 100% reduction in ambient noise but I have to estimate that these Bose QuietComfort 3 headphones effectively reduced unwanted ambient noise by 95% without sacrificing the actual sound output. A small amount of ambient sound residual is actually a important safety feature. It could be potentially dangerous if you were left totally without being able to sense what was happening around you and hearing is one of our 5 senses.
Although this set of headphones carries a rather hefty price tag you will be treating yourself to that famous Bose top of line sound technology and you will not be disappointed.
I honestly feel that sound my Bose QuietComfort 3 sound experience became immediately realized and I now sit back, relax and enjoy a world of pure, clean, quality sound.
