great great. Absolutely great.
Pros:
Dose a great job at what it was designed for
Cons:
That more people don't know about these.
The Bottom Line:
You could try if you have the time, and patients, to find something better. But you will not succeed. This is my choice after 15 years of looking.

Bose Companion 3 Multimedia Speaker System. First thing, beware; there is a Companion 2 system. Do not get that one by some sort of mistake. The companion 2 is an expensive toy, but the companion 3 is a great product. Expensive, yes, but it is worth the price.
About the Bose Companion 3 Multimedia system. I heard some Bose speakers when I was younger that I thought sounded exceptionally good, so I bought these on the thought that Bose must make good stuff. I was right. The base (separate subwoofer) is very hard hitting, and I only have the separate base gain half way up. For a set of computer speakers I don’t think you could want more. Now, they might not live up to a home theater system but, when a foot compares himself to a yard, he always comes up short. Remember what these are for, and you will be very pleased.
They have this little thing called a control module. It resembles a hockey puck to me. The outer rim turns clockwise and counterclockwise for volume up and down. Also the top of this unit is a touch sensitive material, like those touch lamps. It puts the speakers on mute. There is a light to tell you when mute is on or off. This unit is on its own wire and can be placed anywhere that is convenient. This little feature is so nice you might wonder how life was before, after you become used to it. I know I’m addicted.
I guess this was a little costly, but I am very happy. So when I sleep at night, I am still happy. This was a good purchase that I would recommend to any friend.
