This is for the model 8995, and I've had this shave for about 16 months and just replaced the foil and cutter block.
I have used foil shavers exclusively for about 20 years and have found this model to be the best yet. The new style cutter is superior to their old ones, making a cleaner cut on your whiskers and faster as well. It's a very close shave and works better on my neck hairs than previous shavers too.
Decibel level is an issue for me and this model is significantly quieter than my previous Braun, in fact Consumer Reports has found this line (Complete 360) to be the quietest of any foil shaver they tested, and the best overall. It's my first shaver with the cleaning system, and for this alone I would never go back, the shaver doesn't irritate my skin as my old ones could and I'm pretty sure this is why.
I had to replace the foil and cutter block a little early, but I'm a tradesman whose face gets pretty dirty and this may explain wearing out the cutter block before the 18 month replacement recommendation by Braun.
I was concerned about the rechargeable batteries and the best way to manage them, but the manual says the processor does this for you, so no worries!
