http://www.epinions.com/content_304794799748 I love my Bugaboo Cameleon Stroller and buying an extra set of tailored fabric for it makes it even easier to use. Each Bugaboo Cameleon comes with a set of tailored fabric already, but you can customize your Cameleon further by purchasing an extra set and changing your tailored fabric from time to time.
This fleece is amazing! It's thick and cushy and it's great at keeping moisture off baby from winter rains. The pieces are made of performance fleece and completely washable plus the colors don't fade. The fabric and trim are both of extremely high quality materials.
New for 2007: Bugaboo has come up with denim tailored fabric! They also came out with a special limited edition stroller base fashioned in denim! The tailored denim fabric can be purchased for a premium of another twenty dollars and is extremely attractive!
I like having an extra set so that I could make sure to have a clean stroller at all times. I just switch between my black and orange tailored fabrics to always have a clean and new looking stroller. I also like the idea of being able to switch depending on my mood and it is pretty easy to change the colors.
The set includes a sun canopy, bassinet apron, and seat inlay. The fabric for the sun canopy slips on the frame easily. The seat inlay has openings for the straps on the five point harness of the stroller and goes on and off with Velcro. I find the bassinet apron to be the least useful out of the set because I tend to use the seat more. I wish there was a way to use the bassinet apron on the seat because it is an attractive piece and would be a great foot muff option. It zips easily on to the bassinet and is probably the easiest piece to switch.
Some more details - Cost: About $100/set
Eight colors available: red, black, green, blue, pink, orange, sand, yellow
Options: Can be customized with embroidery.
Other: This tailored fabric doesn't fit the Gecko or Frog strollers from Bugaboo.
My thoughts
I think this set is not the greatest value, but I do find that having an extra seat inlay is helpful for keeping my stroller clean. I love being able to change colors at my whim and it is almost like owning two strollers. I chose the basic charcoal grey/black option on my Cameleon when I bought it, and I love the clean lines of having that choice, but I also like breaking out this extra tailored fabric in my crazy orange color!
I would love it if Bugaboo sold each piece in the set separately, but from a practical point, I can argue that it is a spare set for continuous use while cleaning. It is also nice that Bugaboo offers the fabric at all so that if mine is ever ruined I can buy replacements. The Cameleon is an expensive stroller and I would love to be able to keep it nice so that someone else might enjoy it after me.
