If you need the second battery this is a worthwhile accessory

Date of Review:  Aug 17, 2005
The Bottom Line: Buy this if you use IS lenses a lot. Physically big, some camera bags won't hold the camera with it installed.
Review: I've been shooting with an original Rebel for over a year. For the Rebel, the battery grip is almost a necessity because that camera is lightweight (all plastic) and needs the extra weight of the grip to give it better balance--especially with big...

Canon BG-E2 adds great stability to a great camera

Date of Review:  Mar 6, 2007
The Bottom Line: The BG-E2 is an asset to any 20 or 30D
Review: I find the Canon BG-E2 battery grip to be an asset to my Canon 30D digital SLR camera. In addition to providing excellent battery life and performance, I find this grip to add more stability to my 30D camera. I also appreciate the side controls for...

Canon battery grip for 20D not so hot

Date of Review:  Aug 2, 2005
The Bottom Line: I don't recommend it. Too expensive for what it actually gives you.
Review: The BG-E2 fits into the camera body's battery compartment and screws in via the tripod mount. It has it's own tripod mount so you don't lose anything there. It houses 2 batteries or your own AA's but the convenience is probably for situations when...

This vertical grip adds great flexibility to my Canon 30D

Date of Review:  Mar 5, 2007
The Bottom Line: I strongly recommend this vertical grip, especially if your hands are not small and you enjoy taking a lot of vertical images.
Review: One of my favorite mediums for photography is portraiture, which means that I take a lot of vertical images. That, plus the fact that I have migrated to a digital SLR, means that I take dozens (hundreds) of images at one time. I use a Canon 30D,...
