wonderful camera

I bought the XTI because I really wanted a higher quality camera than my point and shoot, but did not want to spend thousands. This camera has fullfilled my needs 100%. It is very easy to use and has a whole host of "automatic" settings (portraits, moving objects, landscape, closups) that really help the novice shoot great pictures in just about any situation, but it also has a lot of professional- type "manual" features, so that those with more camera knowledge will find it just as wonderful. Since it's 10 megapixels, you can shoot in high jpeg or raw mode and print your photos nice and big without losing quality. Mechanically, it is comfortable, with all of the buttons in appropriate positions- no awkward shooting.


The lens the camera comes with (if one purchases the kit) is a 18/55 lens and i would rate it fair.


The only thing I find annoying about the camera is the book that came with it. it's a little hard to follow.

The price is really great for this level of camera. Shopping around is truly worth it, as the prices I found had a +/- $100. Be cautious when you purchase as some vendors sell "body only" which means you must purchase a lense seperately.
