Review: How do you turn a hobbyist photographer into a professional? Buy them the Canon Rebel xTI 10.1 MP! I love this camera. The auto setting makes it worthwhile for the beginner. Canon also has a great website for you to get tips and share with other...

Canon EOS Rebel XTI with Manual Nikon Lenses

by  jm0831 ,  Feb 20, 2007
5 out of 5 people found this review helpful.
Pros: You can meter using older Nikon manual focus lenses. Reasonable noise up to ASA 400
Cons: Digital bodies are way too expensive when considering that they are outdated so quickly.
The Bottom Line: Recommend especially if you have older Nikon manual lenses (with aperature ring) that you want to continue using.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Having waited too long for Nikon to make an entry level body that would meter with my older Nikon lenses, I finally decided to buy the Canon Digital Rebel and use Nikon lens to Canon body adapters for my older Nikon manual lenses. This was an...

Review: The price was good, functionality was good, performance was good, usability was good. It is weird that the pricing was different for black versus silver bodies.

Review: I bought this camera for my husband for Christmas after I researched 10+ MP cameras on Consumer Reports. He worked at a camera store, so he knows quality and absolutely loves this camera. He says it's the best gift he's ever received!

by  myord ,  Jan 6, 2007

Pros: Picture quality, megapixels, lenses, battery life/charging
Cons: body size, viewfinder size, slight underexposure
The Bottom Line: I would buy this camera any time
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Yes I loved the camera. I loved the features and the capabilities. What I did not like and it's based on my Canon ELAN IIE 35mm SLR is the smaller viewfinder and smaller body. The viewfinder doesn't seem to be properly placed i.e. my nose constantly...

Review: This Christmas we upgraded from a Nikon 4500 point and shoot (digicam) to a Canon XTi (Rebel 400D). There were several reasons for this and I will try to explain my decision making logic below:

The first thing to consider for me was cost...

51 out of 51 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Excellent build quality, grat-looking photos, low noise, compact and light for SLR
Cons: Not very cheap, supplied lens has chromatic aberrations at wide angle
The Bottom Line: I am very pleased with the Canon Digital Rebel XTi and its kit lens. Not only the camera and the lens are solidly built and feature...

Review: I wanted to get the Canon Digital Rebel XTi ever since it was released. I bought a silver Xti with lens (black one is more expensive). The Canon Digital Rebel XTi with an 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6 lens is very impressive and especially so for its price...

Pros: High resolution, great L CD screen, fast.
Cons: not so comfortable in hand, or nose.

Review: Right out of the box this camera blew all my other pictures away. The 10 megapixels is incredible. I am an artist an need the extra detail for my model studies and reproductions, and the XTi fit the bill and more.
This is probably the best...

Big Dog on the block

19 out of 19 people found this review helpful.
Pros: High resolution, sensor cleaning, fast
Cons: a little on the light side
The Bottom Line: All those people buying Sony DSC and Kodak 800 series, trade them in, your camera is ready - a real dSLR at a regular persons price

Review: The Rebel XTi is the newest member of the Digital Rebel family As befits the market leader in digital cameras they have taken a successful product and improved it. Where the original Rebel sported 6.3MP, the XT sported 8MP the new XTi sports 10.1MP...
