Cannon A570IS is probably one of the better point and shoot digital cameras that Cannon has produced. It has ton of features that are very rare in its class of cameras. It has a small size that is just enough to conveniently grip and use. The 2.5 inch LCD screen on the back is perfect for viewing the images and zooming in on them. The master control dials are really easy to work with and offer one touch configuration options. The detailed menu is robust enough for everyone. The red eye reduction does the trick most of the times. Multiple self timer options are also a nifty feature. I bought the camera from newegg.com where it came with a 1GB SD card. I have now replaced it with a 4GB card which allows a lazy person like me to do several shoots before cleanup. A very unique feature for its class is the built in image stabilization. I have rarely seen out of focus images from this one which is very common in other cameras in its class. The bigger card also allows me to shoot in video mode, which also is surprisingly good with this camera. The 7 megapixel quality images and 4x zoom are just perfect for everyday common use. Last but not the least, it runs off common AA size batteries which are easily replicable. I wonder why others do not do this. It is compatible with most common memory card formats.
In short, it is a very easy to use camera that produces great quality pictures. With the affordable price tag, I am sure it is one of Cannons best sellers.
