Canon G9: Don't buy me!

by   reviewsy ,  Dec 3, 2008
Pros: Easy picture review.
Memory cards cheap.
Battery is rechargeable, and lasts.
Cons: This camera does not take great pictures.  They are average at best.
The Bottom Line:

For the price, you are better off spending a little more on a true SLR, or a lot less on a point and shoot.

Review: I purchased the Canon G9 2.5 months ago, I have taken pictures on multiple settings and it is an inferior product that takes average pictures.  I had a Canon PowerShot S70 for about 5 years until I broke it.  It would have cost $145 to fix so i ...

Professional Point and Shoot

by   one_tamm ,  Aug 3, 2008
Pros: Great image quality Supports Raw and Manual Control
Cons: Bulky, barely fits in pocket ISO performance isn't so great past 800.
The Bottom Line: If you want the best point and shoot camera, buy the G9.

Professional control for consumers, a great companion for professionals.

by   fox-orian ,  Jul 29, 2008
Pros: Full metal casing. Full set of manual controls. RAW. Great for professionals and consumers alike.
Cons: Steep initial cost. May make you want to eventually upgrade to a real SLR camera!
The Bottom Line: The G9 meets a unique middle-ground where professionals can get the quality they need and consumers can get the quality they're not used to having in a compact camera.
Review: Photography is one of my few serious hobbies. Late last year, I bought myself the newest Semi-Professional SLR Canon had to offer -- the EOS 40D. The 40D has traveled almost everywhere with me around the city since then, but it felt like a couple things ...

Pros: Great camera, fully adjustable to suit any picture taking situation.
Cons: Have read on forums that dust can collect on the inner lens rendering it useless
The Bottom Line: Awesome camera due to it numerous setting and user friendly attitude
Review: I have had my canon G9 for approx three wks now. Although I am still learning the basics of the camera, it takes awesome pictures. The camera has more than ample setting for you to take pictures in all sort of environments, to include taking pictures in ...

Pocket Pro Camera

by   frankreview ,  Apr 28, 2008
Pros: Good size, Shoot in RAW, Canon quality, Canon Accesories
Cons: A little awkward in the pocket. No ergonomic grip. Mild Fringing
Review: The best advanced point & shoot on the market. 12.1 mp Designed for the photographer who wants more from their shots than a point and shoot can give and doesn't want to carry around a DSLR. A big feature is the ability to shoot in RAW mode. If you're ...
