Epinions Great, easy-to-use, high quality pictures

by  desert_woman,  Mar 26, 2008
Pros: size, quality of pictures
Cons: price (when I bought it, although now it is less expensive_
Review: I bought this camera as my third digital camera. I like the compactness of it, the battery lasts quite a long time, is really easy to charge (comes with an electrical outlet charger), and takes great pictures. It is very easy to use which was ...

by  eshopper2,  Nov 20, 2007
Pros: compact, easy to use
Cons: has more features than I would ever use
Review: What a great little camera, compact and easy to use, even for an amateur like me. With a price of only $199 online from RitzCamera and a 3% rebate if you log into ConsumerClub.com, it is a true great deal! Can recommend it to ...

Epinions Great Quality for a Reasonable Price

by  mattswardson5,  Feb 20, 2008
Pros: amazingly clear pictures; lightweight and VERY DURABLE; neat adjustments; simple layout of menus and options.
Cons: Some adjustments (color accents and color swaps) aren't available with flash.
Review: After using several digital cameras, I've finally found the one I'd like to say I'll keep forever. I've used Kodak, Sony, and another Canon that I didn't feel were appropriate for my level of experience and knowledge. The PowerShot is perfect for both ...

Epinions Good quality digital camera

by  dutch_marauder,  Jan 9, 2005
Pros: Good looking, great pictures
Cons: Battery life sucks
Review: Great good looking camera. It will fit your pocket, so you have every opportunity to take it with you and use it! But poor battery life, when you use your flash it will be dry in just a few shots. Good quality pictures, even with just 2.1 megapixels. Its ...

Epinions Canon PowerShot SD1000 - thumbs up

by  becks5269,  Mar 24, 2008
Pros: Great point-and-shoot camera, great macro shots, clear photography, good for family photography
Cons: Images have tendency to be blurry, shutter speed (esp w/ flash) is not optimal
Review: I was given this camera for Christmas and it was one of the best gifts I've ever received! I am NOT a hardcore photographer, but rather just wanted a quality point-and-shoot for pics of family and friends. The SD1000 has done the trick and then some! ...

Epinions Yet another SD in the family

by  Ames100,  Dec 16, 2007
Pros: Ultra-compact, takes decent shots under most circumstances, easy to use, flexible
Cons: Shutter lag in flash mode, sensor has limited dynamic range, fixed aperture lens
The Bottom Line: A good inexpensive choice for a pocket camera, but be aware that some corners have been cut.
Review: The 7-megapixel SD1000 is the least expensive model in the current generation of Canon’s popular ultra-compact Elph (Ixus in Europe) digital cameras. Our family already has two cameras in this model line purchased over the last couple of years (an ...

Epinions Nice little camera, OK pictures

by  megs_dad,  Dec 31, 2007
Pros: size, viewfinder, weight and maximum resolution.
Cons: menu system, viewfinder easily scratched
The Bottom Line: This camera is as good an anything else out there. Nothing superlative, but solid.
Review: I am a Canon guy. My first camera was a TX, followed by a T80, with all of the interchangeable lenses that go along with them. This is my first Canon digital camera. I purchased this camera for our summer vacation. I put a premium on a small form ...

Epinions Pretty good

by  augustdc,  Jul 2, 2007
Pros: Great picture quality; lots of controls; large screen; optical view-finder; included SD card.
Cons: SD card is only 32 MB; some darkened edges or purple fringing
Review: The camera is sleek, fits nicely in my small hand, has simple controls and does exactly what is expected. However, every professional review I read spoke about purple fringing and this is definitely the case. While the effects of the purple fringing ...

Epinions Great quality, poor customer service.

by  kaybay,  Aug 7, 2008
Pros: Great photo quality, ease of use.
Cons: Too many glitches, Lens errors, and poor customer service
The Bottom Line: It's a great camera if you're looking forward to buying another in a year. Not for someone who is looking for a camera with a lifetime of use!
Review: I have always loved the durability of Canon products. Most of their cameras, at first glance, look sturdy and trustworthy, mostly because of the fact that they are not made with shoddy plastic casing. Most Canon cameras can withstand elements of the ...
