Pros: A lot of features for the money, and the video works pretty well.
Cons: Poor design, difficult to use, and poor picture quality ?
The Bottom Line: There are plenty of better options on the market.
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: The ergonomic design is poor. You can not hold the camera without inadvertently hitting a button, especially the menu button and set switch. There is no continuous battery level display. The lens cap is useless - it will not stay in place.

Pros: Feature-rich, easy to use and good quality/value for price
Cons: maybe has too many features that are harder to use with frequency.
The Bottom Line: Really the best buy for the top end of digital cameras- all the features needed, quality and performance for current street price- nice.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: You've reached the summit on digital cameras with this product. I've used Olympus pretty steadily since digital cameras first hit the market. 2.2 MP, 3. MP and 4.40 MP.
Each of those cameras had excellent ease of use and were pretty durable and... |

Cons: very grainy pictures If you purchase from Best Buy you will regret it.

Review: Our school Dist bought a Cannon cause of its repetation. This camera shot grainy, pictures right out of the box on the auto settngs. Moved the ISO setting to 80 and still very bad images.
Worst part of the issue is dealing with "Best Buy" and... |

Review: As a photographer in the making, I absolutely love my Powershot S3. I got it when it first came out and loved it. It has so many great features like the digital enhancement that can be done on the camera. The focus is pretty good. Sometimes it takes...

Pros: Price and ease of use.
Cons: Comes with tiny memory card that needed to be upgraded right away.
The Bottom Line: I would reccommend this to anyone that has had a problem adjusting to digital cameras because of the general feel when you shoot pictures with this camera.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: After weeks and weeks of reading product reviews on different websites, I settled on this model based on: The fact that the flash was easy to turn off and that I could take it easily off of auto and do my own focusing. This may sound like a low list...

Pros: Good handling and looks, good zoom and I.S. feature and excellent video with stereo sound.
Cons: Possible quality control issues (misaligned CCD?). Chromatic aberration in images. Price.
The Bottom Line: Potentially a very good model, and nice upgrade from the S2, however possible quality control issues cause a need for caution when buying. Test thoroughly once purchased.

Review: The Canon S3IS is the third generation in the S-series for Canon. A couple of years ago they introduced the S1IS which while popular, only offered a 3 megapixel resolution enough for good 4x6 prints and a bit above, but not large prints. This was...

Pros: 12x zoom, Image stabilizer, Full manual mode, good battery life
Cons: Can't autofocus in dark, noisy ISO 800, no 9-point autofocus
The Bottom Line: If you want an excellent camera but aren't quite ready for the dive into dSLR land with expensive lenses, this is the camera for you.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: It's kind of hard to impress me with most gadgets and gizmos - I end up always finding some little detail that gets to me. However, the Powershot S3 IS is, without a doubt, the finest point-and-shoot camera I have ever used.

Pros: Vibration reduction, multiple shot modes, rotational LCD screen, great digital and manual zoom.
Cons: Possibly more megapixels, pricetag still a little high.
The Bottom Line: Bottom line is that if you have used cameras before, this is a snap. If not seriously into cameras, it takes a little to get familiar with.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: The first time I turned on the camera and took a picture, it went something like this...[power on sound], zoom..."oh wow...zoom back out...", beep beep...click...pure joy. The picture of the airplane I shot dumping fire retardant on a wildland fire...

Pros: fast, quiet zoom, low price for high quality, great image quality
Cons: lens cover doesn't snap on, multitude of buttons that might get in the way
The Bottom Line: Buy this camera now, it's inexpensive and is all the camera you'll ever need.

Review: Years ago I bought a Sony Cybershot F-707. It was huge, but had lovely picture quality. I soon realized that I wasn't using it much because taking it with me when I left the house was a major decision.
I was going to Las Vegas and I wanted... |
