Crashes Frequently - Loses Data

During the three months that I have owned the unit, I have encountered two hardware errors causing lost data.

The DVD media appears to be very unstable when used with the DC-10. When it encounters an error, it can lose all of the footage recorded on it.

The situation I have experienced is very similar to the early days of CD writing. When the CD encountered any type of writing disruption, it rendered the disk unusable.

Recently, I recorded a nearly full disk of video of a special event that my children had been planning for months. The data error on the DVD occurred when I turned on the camcorder in a subsequent recording session. All of the footage was unrecoverable.

I am very disappointed by my purchase. I do not recommend the Canon DC-10 to anyone.
