Perfect mobile solution for my business

by  barfmania,   Oct 9, 2007

Pros:  Ease of use! Nice big screen, the ability to add whatever size storage you need.

Cons:  Battery life could be improved, but then again it is packed with lots of features.

The Bottom Line:  Recommended for anyone who is looking for a serious smartphone that is packed with features and is expandable. Very impressive.

Having been a Nokia fan since mobile phones became a necessity, it was time to find something with a little more to offer. After doing my homework I settled on the Dopod 838 pro for me next mobile phone. I was looking for a little more than what was available in Nokia phones and I certainly found it with the Dopod 838. Although the specs stated it came loaded with WM5, my Dopod came with WM6 pre-installed on an Optus plan. The handset costs $25AUD per month over two years which means I am only paying $600AUD for this device, well under the cheapest buy it now prices. I was also able to sign up to a $29 plan which suited my needs. The Dopod has lived up to my expectations and more. It is very easy to use and is bundled with many more features than anticipated. I added a 2gig mico SM card and have loaded my favourite MP3s. Using a mini USB stereo headset, it leave the Ipod for dead. This is just one of the features, I can download many other applications that run on WM6 that take my fancy. As a phone, the touch screen took a little to get used to but now I have it worked out and it is so simple. My contacts have never been so detailed and easy to access. I love the built in Wireless network which allows me to connect into many unsecured wireless networks around the city to send and receive my emails. Too easy! My next gadget I will be adding is a GPS receiver and my choice of navigation software once I have researched to best deal for WM6. This is a true smartphone and the extendable QWERTY keyboard is just magic to use.... no more fumbling to send text messages.. or better still I use the transcriber to write my messages which are quickly converted into text.... This is exactly what I wanted. I would have to say the best optioned smartphone on the market....
