Dualit four slice toaster
Date of Review: Nov 15, 2007
The Bottom Line: you get what you pay for, and if you use a toaster a great deal then this is well worth the price.
My family is serious about bread. I mean, really serious!! There was nothing more annoying than looking forward to toast only to have it come out unevenly browned, burnt, or toasted so long that it fossilized. I had bought cheap toasters, expensive toasters, it didn't matter, they were all crap.
So after doing extensive research, I figured a country that is as serious about bread as I am...Britain...should know about toasters. Dualit toasters are written up as if they are national treasures. Hand built toasters? And the cost!!! But I went ahead and bought a new toaster on Ebay for a good price. I stayed away from the cheaper refurbished ones...I don't trust those...there was a reason why they were returned in the first place. Got my toaster and we have been using it every day since it arrived. It has lived up to it's reputation all the way...it toasts so quick and so hot that the bread is perfectly toasted and crispy on the outside and the center of the bread is still moist! It was worth every penny, and I am probably going to buy another one for our bigger breakfasts and brunches. What impresses me the most is it's simplicity. No bells and whistles, no digital readouts, no complicated settings, it's so beautifully uncomplicated that it's a pleasure to use. I highly recommend this toaster and my advice is to bite the bullet and spend the money for a toaster that will probably outlive you.
