Author's Review
Half-Life 2 is the sequel to Half-Life, a game that won numerous awards during its apex. 6 years after the first came out, the second finally arrived. Half-Life 2, unlike its predecessor, runs on the "Source" engine, a rendering system created by Steam that improves graphics immensely. The laws of physics are put into place, which can be noticed almost instantly when starting the game.
I had played the original Half-Life, and I loved it. I assumed that after 6 years of design and effort put into Half-Life 2, it could only be better. My favorite part of the game has to be the difficulty and skill it requires. I always play on the most difficult setting, and it invokes that great feeling that I always get when playing a first-person shooter.
This game, similarly to the prequel, has a great plot with which the user will become intimate. Also like its prequel, there is a lot of slaughtering involved, which some, but not all, may like.
I recommend this game only to people who have played the first Half-Life, as this game has some spoilers for those who have not played Half-Life but plan to. If there is no intention of playing the first Half-Life, this game is the way to go!
