Great Printer

The Bottom Line: For low volume photo and CD/DVD printing, this is what you need
We purchased a digital camera for my wife to use for scrapbooking and while I already own an Epson all in one printer, and am very pleased with its output, I decided to look around for a printer that would handle the photos without requiring interfacing with the computer. I also had the need to print small quantities of labels for CD's/DVD's and this printer seemed to fit the bill. Setup is a snap and when I printed my first CD, I was impressed. It took much less time than I though and the results were outstanding. I then tried the photo printing capabilities using HP standard photo paper and again, the results were outstanding. This printer is extremely fast, and delivers a quality I had not expected for its price. This printer has six individual cartridges (black, yellow, magenta, light magenta, cyan, and light cyan) which allow it to print an amazing blend of colors without building up on the paper. The ink cartridges, like all other printers, are costly, but replacements can be obtained from 3rd party vendors at reduced prices. The ones I have used in my other Epson have given me no problems over the past three years. Of course, Epson recommends only their ink, and the printer will "balk" a little when it senses a non Epson cartridge, but pretty much all manufacturers' devices do the same. Overall, I feel that for small quantity photo and CD/DVD printing, this unit will excel.
