Oooh the fancy earphones

Date of Review:  Jan 24, 2009
The Bottom Line: Bass heads should avoid, but if you can enjoy your "sounds" at a low volume this is a great choice.
Review: What you should take away from this review.
The ER-6i is in a different class from most cheap headphones. If your headphones normally cost U$20 or less, these have much better sound. Once you try the ER-6i, you will not be able to enjoy cheap...

Insert properly!!

Date of Review:  Nov 8, 2006
Review: I consider myself a decent audiophile and want to appreciate the music I have to the fullest. After some research I decided to purchase the ER-6i's for my Ipod. When I first inserted them I thought..."I'm sending this sh*t back". After reading the...

Good sound, but questionable build - Buy the black ones

Date of Review:  Jun 4, 2006
The Bottom Line: Good earphones with a weak cord. Try the black ones as their cord looks stronger.
Review: I love the sound on these and the sound isolation is the best I've tried, but I have had problems with durability. I don't baby my stuff, but I don't abuse it either. Several month after I got these I started getting intermittent sound on one side...

Exceptional earphones - ER-6i's provide the best sound for mid-priced Canalphones

Date of Review:  Aug 29, 2005
The Bottom Line: Exceptional canalphones - though not the Etymotic ER-4S, purchasers wanting a canalphone suitable with an un-amped portable mp3 player won't be disappointed.
Review: I've had many earphones over the years, from the humble Sennheiser MX400's and Sony EX71's to the more expensive Etymotics.

But I've been wanting a pair of earphones I can travel with - not a $400 pair but something a little bit cheaper...

ER-6i Excellent Noise Isolation, Wonderful Sound

Date of Review:  Mar 1, 2005
The Bottom Line: If you fly a lot (or even a little) get these earphones. They bring noise isolation to a level you won't believe and the sound is to die for.
Review: The ER-6i is a newer version of the ER-6. It comes in white (to match your iPod), offers more sound isolation (3 rubber rings instead of two) and has slightly higher bass response than the 6.

I have a pair of Sennheiser noise canceling...

Among the best IEM's, and perfect for the price

Date of Review:  Apr 9, 2005
The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a pair of headphones that may change your perception and appreciation of what headphones can be, then these might just be it.
Review: (please note that this is a long review. So, grab a drink and relax...)
If you know me from HeadFi, then you know I've been ranting about just how good Grado headphones are, but quiet about comfort and portability. Well, I think I've found my...

Beautiful Sound and Bullet Proof

Date of Review:  Jun 24, 2007
Review: Awesome sound and durability. Running 20-50 miles per week and cycling 40-60 miles per week for the last 18 months with these in ear, no issues. Accidentally melted the filter into the speaker with a light bulb, once the sound canal was cleared -...

Better than any I've (unfortunately) bought before

Date of Review:  Jun 13, 2005
The Bottom Line: After years of buying different active noise canceling headphones I never thought I'd settle on a pair of passive noise suppressors, but these are the best I've ever owned.
Review: I love the ER-6i Headphones. I fly back and forth to Europe at least once a month and so I consider myself an unfortunate expert on noise-canceling headphones that don't work. My most recent pair (for the past year) were the Sony MDR-NC11, but these...

Not just for iPods

Date of Review:  Jun 17, 2005
The Bottom Line: ER-6i is a buy. Highly recommended for audiophile travel and home use. Its superb sonics more than compensates for its comfort issues.
Review: [ After over 3 weeks, I'm in love with these phones. I've gotten used to wearing them, I forget they are there. I'm now sensitized to the nuances of its quality, I can clearly hear the effects of lesser quality phones quickly. I now value them so...

Rewarding Sound But Give it A Chance

Date of Review:  Oct 11, 2005
The Bottom Line: Excellent earphones for road warriors, but patience in getting the right fit is required. Bass is ok for small earphones, but it isn't going to knock you out, either.
Review: I am a regular Joe when it comes to electronics. I am willing to pay for excellent sound reproduction, but only up to a point. I am far from an audiophile.

My interest in the ER-6i was purely for function. When looking for a new set of...
