Etymotic Research Isolator™ ER-6i Consumer Headphones

I did a lot of research from several sources on noise isolating earphones,and everything I've read about these impressed me. I bought a pair and I've had them about 2 weeks. I LOVE them! I use them with a Creative Zen mp3 player, and the sound clarity is excellent. The highs are bright and open and the bass is good as long as you make certain to insert the phones sufficiently into the ear canal. The noise isolating characteristics are excellent. I use them at the gym where they have loud music playing, and I'm in my own world with my music. With normal headphones, I have the volume setting at 22 or 23 out of 25. With the ER-6i, I can reduce the volume down to 15 or 16 and hear sounds in songs that I never knew were there. Compared to other noise isolating phones (like Shure) that cost twice as much or more, these are a great bargain. I got them on Amazon for $75 including shipping.
