Good game which provides a fun and challanging time

I never really paid attention to fear effect when it came out. I just thought it was another one of those Resident Evil copies that was only average. So months past and somehow fate brought me to my locale Toys Are Us. While browsing the games section I was mainly just looking at all the cheap discount games when my eye caught on a little game called Fear Effect for the super low price of $9.99. I heard some good stuff about so I decided to give it a try. Man was I in for a surprise?

Gameplay- Fear Effects gameplay is like a double-edge sword. On one hand it has the Resident Evil control and is great for Resident Evil veterans. But on the other hand not all people have played Resident Evil and it may be frustrating for beginners. Another thing is the real-time inventory system. This is a flaw. Its just to hard cycling through the inventory to take out the shotgun to finish off the boss. While it sounds good on paper it just doesn¡¯t work that good while playing the game. One thing that may anger people is the easy deaths. Believe you will die MULTIPLE times while playing this game. In fact its probably impossible to complete this game without dieing once while playing your first time. Plus add that you have to load your game each time its very time consuming. With the Fear Meter (your life) some how it feels a little shallow. Stuff like when you near an enemy you loose life, it doesn¡¯t fit to well. The puzzles in this game are excellent, from disarming bombs to communicating to your younger self you'll be racking your head for hours. Another thing to mention is that this is a true adult game. There are betrayals, tons of gore, and even a little nudity this is probably the most adult game I have played yet. The whole atmosphere is what makes this game worth playing. I never wanted to stop untill I had beat it all. I also love how there are multiple endings. That bumps up the replay value quite a bit.

Graphics- This is where it gets good. Every thing in the game is FMV. You can watch the cars ride down the highway. You can see sparks fly from neon signs. Every thing in this game is great to look at.

Sound- Excellent sound. The voice acting in this game is topnotch. And the sound effects are great as well. Music is good but I can't remember any of it.

Final Statement- This is a good game plagued by minor bugs. You owe it to your self to pick it up. It has a great story, excellent graphics, and pretty good gameplay. And if you find it for $10 if you don't buy it you are missing out on one of the best games out for Playstation.
