Pros:
Awesome graphics, Anime style, lead character with attitude {about time}.
Cons:
Loading times are tremendous and frequent, puzzles sometimes senseless.
The Bottom Line:
Looking for something different and original? Pick up Fear Effect, the Anime style and diverse storyline will keep you busy for days {or day, depending upon your skill level}.

Author's Review
Whereas the second edition in the series showcases grander scenarios, more in-depth character explanations, and updated settings, {loading times are a lot less frequent, thank God} the original is still the one held truest to my heart.
Reasons? At the time of its release it amazed gamers with its Anime style, brainfreezing puzzles, and adult themes. Also, if you're going to play Fear Effect2, it would really help you out if you knew what was going on. Trust me, it's better to know the ending of the story with this series.
Beside the graphics, the inventory system works nicely but can be a pain. Also, ignore the stereotyped treatment toward women, the gameplay more then makes up for it.

I'm writing an opinion on this older game because of the popularity of the second one. Get it. Save yourself five bucks {and deny Blockbuster while you're at it} and buy it. Then, after your brain has had enough of the puzzles and you're reduced to cheating and finally beat the game, get Fear Effect2.
