Great starter - mid range camera
Date of Review: Sep 22, 2009
I was bought the fuji finepix s5800 for a gift. My old camera (another finepix) had finally died after 5 years. The picture quality is incredible and as mentioned above all the fine pix are really easy to use. Even simple things like no flash etc are a one button click. It is quite bulky, but i fit it in my handbag! I have just taken it on our honeymoon & it has not let us down once, the zoom is brilliant & has incredible detail. I prefer not to use the digital zoom to be honest. If you pop it on view finder & use good batteries it will last about 2 hours before they die - perfect for my safari.
I would definately recommend it to anyone looking for a decent camera, a new parent, learner photograher or someone wishing to try a new hobby, Ive actually taken a great intrest in photography now I have a decent camera! My friend our wedding photographer was very impressed with quality & all the features (and his camera was a few thousand!) as mentioned before its much better than the normal run of the mill digital cameras out there, which are usually more expensive with less features & harder to use but its not quite a SLR! - However there is a feature that takes continous shots :)
P.S. I dropped it about 6 feet onto a road on hols with the lens cap off, it didnt phase it an inch - so if you have kids, pets or sometimes drop things like me - its a definate bonus! My sister dropped her more expensive camera from our sofa to the floor & her digital screen got a massive crack up the screen.
