Pros: Feature packed, multi-sport capability.
Cons: "Motion Based" is a complete RIP-OFF. Why no Altimeter?
The Bottom Line: As usual, Garmin leaves at least two important features off every product it sells.
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: Bought this a month ago and was pretty happy with it, however, as of tonight, it won't power on for some reason(it was just fully charged).
Anyway, it's great for running and biking- but it's I don't know why they didn't put an altimeter... |

Review: This unit has several very nice improvements over the 301. The design is not quite as small as the pictures would want you to believe.

Pros: Good reception, accurate, small & lightweight, lots of features
Cons: Minimal Mac OS support (more coming)
The Bottom Line: A great GPS/heart rate monitor training aid. It's small, lightweight, and has everything most runners would want.

We picked up the 305 for a couple reasons: (1) my trusty old Timex Ironman Speed + Distance system finally died on me, and (2) as one of us is an expectant mother, we wanted... |

Pros: Works well, reliable, really enables you to track and log your runs
Cons: Bulky, lacks cadence measurement, even with an available "foodpod." Software is only satisfactory.
The Bottom Line: The device works well, but I think it's worth shopping around, and doing more research before choosing.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I received the Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS receiver as a birthday gift in Dec of 2006 (it was on my wishlist), and as of September 18th, 2007, I've run 616.8 miles with it. Approximately. I was hoping it would enable me to reach speed and distance...

Pros: GPS accuracy and precision, data recording, heart rate
Cons: Grade calculation is useless, software is pretty poor for $300+ product
The Bottom Line: Good running and biking tool. Fun to use. Some room for improvement.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I have had my Forerunner 305 for almost 3 weeks now. Previous to this I used a Polar S150 (wired bike mount) for several years and a entry level Polar before that, so I am used to basic heart rate monitor but not advance data recording or GPS.
