Epinions Garmin iQue 3600 GPS Receiver, getting you where you need to go

by  artemis8,  Aug 29, 2005
Pros: will orient any traveler, good directory of locations, good screen size
Cons: long time to synch sometimes, data can get old, short battery life
The Bottom Line: This is a wonder GPS unit to take with you wherever you travel. Easy to read and use, it gets you where you want to be.
Review: A couple years ago my friend started working for Garmin as a technical writer. When my husband found this out he got really excited because that meant she could get an employee discount on products, for us. After researching a few of the gps products ...

Epinions A complex device, but extremely useful

by  xlugxmiop,  Aug 20, 2006
Pros: Integrated Palm PDA, color display, speed, flexibility
Cons: Short battery lifetime, complexity
The Bottom Line: If you're a current or potential Palm PDA user, the iQue 3600 is a fine choice--not as featureful as current devices, but the GPS receiver is a real bonus
Review: (This is a "late" review in that it's been discontinued. One of my favorite price-saving strategies is to wait patiently for discontinued but otherwise useful gadgets and buy tham at rock-bottom prices.) The iQue 3600, like any PDA-based GPS receiver, ...

Epinions Garmin hit a home run with this unit!

by  donc13,  Nov 5, 2003
Pros: Fantastic integration between a GPS and a PDA, well worth it.
Cons: Not waterproof, a few other minor things, see the review
The Bottom Line: Bottom line, try one, you'll like it. If you like it, you'll buy it and not be sorry!
Review: It was the bottom of the 9th, 2 outs, down by 3 and the bases are loaded. Up steps Garmin and hits a home run! I mean it. This PDA/GPS combination is the neatest thing since sliced bread! Its list of features is as impressive as is its execution of those ...

Epinions Can It Really Do All That?

by  lovesgadgets,  May 18, 2004
Pros: Performances as good (if not better than the 2610), excellent PDA performance, Price, SIZE!
Cons: Needs additional accessories (memory cards, mounting unit) to be fully functional in vehicle.
The Bottom Line: If you are looking for the cutting edge in portable GPS equipment, then this is your answer! Garmin is set to be the benchmark for all other integrated units.
Review: Note: This is a re-post due to account changes. The Garmin iQue 3600 is the world's first integrated PDA/GPS combo system. I purchased it as a Christmas gift to myself this year. After looking and looking for the "perfect GPS unit" for my vehicle, I ...

Epinions GARMIN HITS IT OUT OF THE BALLPARK WITH ANOTHER GREAT DEVICE !!

by  mrgadget7,  Feb 13, 2005
Pros: An outstanding device which bundles a PDA, GPS, and voice recorder into one small package!
Cons: Short battery life and fairly steep initial learning curve.
The Bottom Line: Essentially Garmin hits one out of the ballpark with this device!
Review: After owning several Palm Pilots, filling them up, finding that my 4,500 addresses (literally) slow down the processor and finding that I often needed a couple of other functions other than just a PDA, Garmin comes through again with another winner! ...

Epinions combining PDA and GPS is very clever; you can have it for only $300!

by  friendly_jacek,  Dec 9, 2005
Pros: combining PDA and GPS is a very clever idea, only $300!
Cons: has some limitations, you have to learn them to use it well
The Bottom Line: Highly functional unit. One of few combined PDA/GPS gizmos. Some folks complaining about this should have gotten a stand alone unit, as this is not for everyone.
Review: OK, my wife had 2 items on her Santa list: new PDA to replace her ancient one, and GPS unit for her car, as she gets lost easily. Initially I thought I would have to spent at least $1000, but then I learned about Ique. $300 would buy a new one ...

Epinions Absolutely amazing product

by  mcc99,  May 8, 2004
Pros: Easy to use, lots of features, very reliable.
Cons: Need to keep brightness level low when looking to conserve the battery charge.
The Bottom Line: Get this product if you leave your house to do anything. Really.
Review: I did a lot of research before buying. Hands-down this is the best GPS for the money and features I could find and it took very little time to get used to using it. Buy a 256 MB flash card ($40-$60) and the car kit (~$40) and you will be set. This ...

Epinions A Great Portable Alternative

by  ngibieti,  Jul 15, 2004
Pros: Very Portable, Overall Works Well,
Cons: Battery Life, No Mac Support, Small Memory
