Grand Theft Auto 3 is one of the latest addition to the Grand Theft Auto series. Without a doubt, GTA3 is also one of the most controversial game ever made.

In GTA3, you are a fugitive living in Liberty City earning your living by running errands for gangs like the Mafia or the Japanese Yakuza, just to name a few. The game mostly revolves around gang rivalry, cars and so much violence that a lifetime of prison probably won't be enough.

In addition to the huge variety of cars you can drive in GTA3, you can also steer boats around and even fly an aircraft or walk if you feel like taking a stroll. If you suddenly feel like driving, just walk up to any car you like and drive it away. Hijacking cars in GTA3 is simple and besides this felony, you can also rob people of their money and get involved with hookers. Overall, the things you can do in GTA3 are aplenty albeit committing crimes are usually the norm.

The story line in GTA3 is superb and the graphics are crisp. Sound effects are also clear and realistic. The missions in GTA3 range from drive-by shootings to street racing. Although most of the time, you are just asked to run errands like driving VIPs around or killing rival gang members. When you are not playing any missions, you can cruise around the streets in your car and listen to the music from the radio stations. Or if you feel like taking the law in your hands, you can get a patrol car and play the vigilante missions. You can also play paramedic missions or firemen missions by taking an ambulance or firetruck.

Although you can commit many crimes in GTA3, the hands of justice never fails to grab you (most of the time..). You will be pursued by angry patrol vehicles each time you commit a crime and there's even a wanted level which states how much the cops want you locked up in a cold cell. The wanted level will change the type of authority that will be hot on your heels, ranging from normal police officers to FBI agents to the Army!

GTA3 is definitely not suitable for children because it has obscene language, violence, sexual content and the general idea that crime pays. However, amidst all these violence is a new genre of computer game that deserves two thumbs up for it's diverse gameplay and rich story line.
