Epinions Decent For Home Office But Need Patience

by  mutt55,  Jan 15, 2006
Pros: price, design, network card included, excellant B&W print quality
Cons: software glitchy, some prints come out a bit hazed, expensive toners, bad toner meter system
The Bottom Line: Check out the Dell 3000cn (faster, better quality prints and machine, supperior tech support compared to HP (impossilble to reach)
Review: The machine counter for how much toner is left is flawed because will reduce the number down regardless of which color is used. When the toner quantity meter reaches zero it says time to replace the toner, except there is still plenty of toner usually. ...

Epinions Good printer for personal or small business - when it works!

by  sdbluhm,  May 30, 2006
Pros: Good entry price, easy to install and use, fast and good printing for the cost.
Cons: Our experience: 2 of 3 printers have serious manufacturing defects, poor customer service.
The Bottom Line: Printing quality is good, but it seems to be of cheap design and construction. Upgraded this to Average after 3 weeks of consistent error-free use.
Review: I work in Marketing Communications and having a desktop color laser printer is a great time-saver. I recently burned up my old Magicolor 2300DL and it was time to get a new color laser. I chose the HP 2600N for several reasons. Mostly because of ...

Epinions There are better deals to be had.

by  expertseries,  Nov 29, 2006
Pros: Entry-level color laser prints.
Cons: Entry-quality color laser prints.
Review: After looking for a replacement for an HP OfficeJet and seeing an ad for this LaserJet series in a magazine I was moments away from buying this product. Yet poor experience with HP products, service and support made me continue to search for quality ...

Epinions Prints great but per page cost is too high

by  geekalot,  Jan 24, 2008
Pros: Small, compact, easy networking, good color laser quality
Cons: Small expensive cartridges mean high per page costs and more junk to recycle
The Bottom Line: If you print a lot, buy a big laser that uses big cartridges, if you print a little buy a cheaper ink jet.
Review: I bought this printer 18 months ago because it was cute and small and I have been very happy with all aspects of this printer exception for one.: You guessed it, the cost of the toner cartridges. This printer is quiet, draws minimal power when not in ...

Epinions Poor photo quality right out of the box !

by  ebryant,  Jan 13, 2006
Pros: Fast printing, easy setup, available at Costco
Cons: Poor photo quality, memory issues, small paper tray, loud and long warmup, price per page
The Bottom Line: HP may need to work some kinks out of this entry level printer. If you try it, be sure to save your receipt and packaging!
Review: I chose the HP 2600n because I needed a color printer that would print faster than my current inkjet. The price was right ($299 at Costco); so, I decided to give this entry level color laser printer a try. For commercial real estate appraisal reports, ...

Epinions HP 2600N - Engineered robbery

by  rick52768,  May 23, 2006
Pros: Good quality prints
Cons: False empty toner messages rendering the printer non-functioning until the expensive cartridge is replaced
The Bottom Line: Smart chips are smart for HP only, look for another company which does not trick you into buying toner cartridges when you do not need them. But do buy laser.
Review: If you have read the reviews, chats, reports and such that HP's new smart chips embedded in consumables such as their toner cartridges will require you to replace the cartridges before they are empty, believe it! I read at least one report stating that ...

Epinions HP2600n is horrible!

by  jnewsome,  Mar 26, 2008
Pros: Good color, size, and lack of noise.
Cons: No support, no service, no good. Turns each page gray.
The Bottom Line: Avoid it. Turns everything gray. No support.
Review: Owned this printer for a year and a half. From the beginning if you printed a label from a sheet of labels, those you didn't use during this print job turned increasingly gray. Now, every white page of paper comes out gray. And HP wants $79 to allow a ...

Epinions Other Factors To Consider Before Buying HP2600n

by  bcloch,  Mar 2, 2006
Pros: Excellent print quality
Cons: HP color lasers in the $500 to $700 range do not have these disadvantages.
The Bottom Line: Home use only. Avoid for business use. Memory not expandable, cartridges expensive for page count obtained. End of life less than 2 years if used in office.
Review: Even with the optional cartridge out override available from the front panel, this printer is not a heavy duty office type device. The reason has to do with the way printers are rated for number of print cycles per cartridge. All laser printers have ...

Epinions Shocking Quality

by  burns301274,  Nov 10, 2005
Pros: Absolutely none
Cons: No understanding of customer services and small businesses Shocking print quality
The Bottom Line: Do not buy, it does not produce high quality print to allow a small business to be able to send out quality marketing material to potential clients
Review: I purchased one of these printers as a small wine importing business to produce high calibre brochures to send out to clients of mine. Upon reading the description about this printer on Hewlett Packards web-site I decided this would be ideal. Upon ...

Epinions HP's Jeckyll and Hyde Printer

by  angust63,  Sep 16, 2005
Pros: Fantastic print quality. Clear, sharp with great colors.
Cons: Extremely expensive to operate in an office environment.
The Bottom Line: Avoid this printer unless you do color printing exclusively otherwise you will be wasting money on toner cartridges you are not actually using.
Review: This is really about two printers - one being a fantastic color laser printer that does not cost a lot of money initially and the other is the money sucking monster that HP hopes you never realize exists. We purchased this printer about 3 months ago. ...
