HP2600n is horrible!

Owned this printer for a year and a half. From the beginning if you printed a label from a sheet of labels, those you didn't use during this print job turned increasingly gray. Now, every white page of paper comes out gray. And HP wants $79 to allow a technician to speak to me on the phone, but there is no guarantee that this person will be able to fix this problem. When I asked to speak to a supervisor at the HP support line, I was told that it would be about 30 minutes before one would be available as the call would have to routed (whatever that means.)

When I did finally get to speak to the supervisor, I was told that if I didn't pay the $79, there was nothing they could do to help me. I offered to pay the money if they could answer my question about how to stop the machine from turning everything gray, but he told me that there was no promise that they could answer the question.

I bought this printer because I believed HP was a firm that stood behind it's products. I liked the size and functionality. I liked that it had individual toner cartridges for the colors. And I liked that it was quiet.

But as I go out today to buy a new network color laserjet, I assure you it won't be an HP. Which is a shame since I'd already previously recommended this product to a friend and they too are now having this problem.
